ArmInfo. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unresolved for a long time. This was announced on August 9 at a weekly briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, referring to the challenges of the modern international agenda.
"We are pleased to note that relative tranquility is observed on the Line of Contact between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the same time, we are concerned that the parties continue to make mutual accusations under various pretexts. Such rhetoric is not in the interest of creating favorable conditions for the negotiation process, and, accordingly, the search for compromise options for resolving the conflict, "Zakharova emphasized.
At the same time, she noted that the Russian Federation proceeds from the fact that the final settlement, including the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, should be determined through negotiations between Azerbaijanand Armenia. Zakharova once again emphasized that Moscow's position on resolving the conflict has not changed. "For our part, as one of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, and given the close relations between Moscow and Baku and Yerevan, we remain focused on providing assistance in order to comprehensively advance the peace process," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman concluded.
