ArmInfo. With his statement of August 5, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan actually invited Azerbaijan to recognize the accession of Karabakh with a "corridor" to Armenia in exchange for the other territories. MP of Azerbaijan's parliament, political scientist Rasim Musabekov expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"This is the main meaning of his statement. In fact, Yerevan directly says that it will discuss the accession of some part of the "occupied territories" to Armenia with the possibility of liberating another. In other words, calls on us to enter into negotiations on the division of "our territories". In a statement, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry raised the question, what does Pashinyan mean? But the Armenian Foreign Ministry, instead of a concrete answer, actually answered with a propaganda salvo, "he said.
At a meeting held on Renaissance Square in Stepanakert on August 5, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described Artsakh as an integral part of Armenia. "Artsakh is Armenia and that's final!," the prime minister quoted the words of the Armenian statesman and military leader Leonid Azgaldyan.
In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan issued a statement, the general essence of which was that the orientation of Pashinyan's statements to the internal audience does not give the Armenian Prime Minister reason to voice calls for the annexation of the Azerbaijan region.
"The statement of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry clearly shows Azerbaijan's inability to observe the basic rules of politeness and decency, to maintain the norms of civilized behavior between nations, especially between the parties involved at the highest level in the extremely complex and delicate process of resolving the conflict. The personal attacks contained in the statement are regrettable and testify to a culture of intolerance and hatred of the Armenian people in Azerbaijan, led and encouraged by the authorities, " Armenian MFA's response statement says.
According to Musabekov's estimates, with a similar statement, the Armenian Foreign Ministry is trying to turn arrows on Azerbaijan and evade the qualification of Pashinyan's statement on the ownership of Karabakh. On the other hand, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, in the opinion of the political scientist, actually stated that the words of the Armenian Prime Minister in the official position of Yerevan do not change anything, and there's no need to talk about torpedoing the negotiation agenda. According to Musabekov, Baku intends to demand the reaction of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group to the speech of the Armenian prime minister. According to him, the co-chairs should be asked about the feasibility of further negotiations in view of Armenia's similar position. "In the end, the status of Karabakh is part of the negotiation agenda. Meanwhile, Pashinyan's statement means that this status has already been determined for him. Are there any possibalitties for negotiation, it will become clear after the reaction of the co-chairs and their subsequent proposals. If there are, for further negotiations , then, of course, they must be continued, "Musabekov concluded.
