Zakharova: The growth of tension in the zone of the Karabakh conflict  is contrary to recent agreements on compliance with the ceasefire

ArmInfo.  Further escalation  of the situation in the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict zone is  unacceptable. This was on August 1 during a traditional briefing, the  official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria  Zakharova.

According to her, Moscow is really concerned about the aggravation of  the situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani state border, as a result  of which the Armenian soldier died, and there are wounded on both  sides. "We express our condolences to the relatives and friends of  the deceased, and we wish a speedy recovery to all who have suffered.  The increase in tension is contrary to the recent agreements on  observing the ceasefire and the stated intentions to reach a  settlement by political means. We believe that further escalation is  not acceptable and We urge the participants in the confrontation to  exercise restraint, abandon the use of force and take measures aimed  at stabilizing the situation, "said Zakharova.

Speaking about the position of the Co-Chairmen of the OSCE Minsk  Group, the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry advised to  contact them directly, promising to announce it in case of any  additional information.

Note that on July 27-28, as a result of provocations from the  Azerbaijani side, one Armenian soldier was killed, two more were  injured. The Azerbaijani side also reported the injury of its  soldier.
