SRC stopped the attempt to import drugs into Armenia

ArmInfo. Compatriots of the State  Revenue Committee (SRC) stopped the attempt to import opium to  Armenia.

As reported by the press service of the tax and customs committee,  employees of the anti-smuggling department of the SRC at the Agarak  border checkpoint examined the luggage of Iranian citizen O.B. As a  result of the inspection, a weight of 2 kg was found in two metal  parts labeled provided for the machine. 665.5,  resembling a narcotic substance - opium.

On this fact, the Investigation Department of the SRC initiated a  criminal case under Article 267.1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.  Iranian citizen arrested.

It is noted that previously a similar case was recorded by the SRC  staff in the mail. Then an Iranian citizen tried to take a narcotic  substance to Canada - opium weighing 2528 grams in similar details.
