ArmInfo. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin visited the Lori region of the country, where he met with Governor Andrey Ghukasyan.
As the press service of the Russian Embassy in Armenia reports, the head of the region presented the economic potential of the region, spoke about the priority development areas.
The parties noted the importance of intensifying Russian-Armenian interregional cooperation, which in turn will give an additional impetus to the strategic ties between Russia and Armenia.
Kopyrkin and Ghukasyan visited the National Center for Aesthetics and the Vanadzor Technology Center, as well as the Sarton Sewing Factory LLC.
During the visit, Kopyrkin also met with compatriots living in the region.
Representatives of the public organizations <Russia> and <Friends of Russia>, teachers of the Russian language, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the Cossacks who were present at the event told about their activities, discussed the problems and ways to solve them with the head of the diplomatic mission. The meeting was held in the Lori Regional Library of Vanadzor.
