ArmInfo. Armenia and Georgia formed mutually beneficial cooperation at international platforms, and today they once again confirmed their readiness to work together to deepen this cooperation. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on July 24 in Tbilisi after a meeting with his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction with the existing positive dynamics in the development of relations. "Our prime ministers maintain an active dialogue, there have been several visits. Our presidents are also in active contact. The tenth meeting of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission, which was very informative and voluminous, took place a few weeks ago," Mnatsakanyan said.
As the Armenian Foreign Minister pointed out, the governments of the two countries stimulate the rapprochement of business circles, civil society, and also take steps towards activating the inter- parliamentary platform. According to the minister, he invited his Georgian counterpart to visit Armenia with a return visit.
In addition, as Mnatsakanyan said, the sides exchanged views on issues relating to regional security, "Unfortunately, there are still unresolved conflicts in our region. We reaffirmed our commitment to an exclusively peaceful solution to conflicts, and to the understanding that each conflict has its own specifics "We have confirmed our readiness to promote the peaceful resolution of conflicts within the framework of the negotiation platforms formed," the foreign minister said.
On Wednesday, July 24, the first official two-day visit of Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan to Tbilisi began.
