Sheremetyevo reported that the flight N4477 began to depart at around 01:00am, but during the run-up runway smoke inside the cabin appeared. The aircraft commander reported to the ground services about the emergency situation and decided to abort the takeoff. Fire on board was prevented, Sheremetyevo reports. In total, as reported, there were 173 passengers and six crew members on board. In turn, the State Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that when taxiing to the runway, the crew of the aircraft gave a signal of smoke in the cockpit. The liner stopped taking off, the passengers were evacuated by inflatable ramps and taken to the airport. Representatives of the emergency services saw no signs of burning or smoke in the aircraft. A total of 187 people were aboard the aircraft, the ministry said. The Nordwind company said that the crew of the aircraft evacuated passengers because of the odor on board the aircraft. The crew stopped taking off and after the release of the runway and switching off the engines, organized the evacuation of passengers along the inflatable ramps.
