ArmInfo. The "hotline" between Yerevan and Baku is operating, but this does not guarantee that there will be no casualties. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this in an interview with "Radio Azatutyun", addressing the issue of resolving the Karabakh conflict.
"We are working towards concrete results in the negotiations. Why negotiations do not have a specific result? During meetings with representatives of the international community, when I want to describe the situation and explain the lack of progress, I say that there is one reason. When I was elected Prime Minister of Armenia, I stated that to resolve the Karabakh issue, an option was needed that would be acceptable to the peoples of Armenia, Karabakh and Azerbaijan. To some extent, this was an unprecedented statement, since not a single leader of Armenia said that the decision should also be acceptable to the Azerbaijani people," Pashinyan said, expressing confidence that this creates a serious basis for progress in the negotiations.
"Why there is no progress? For a very simple reason: because the president of Azerbaijan refuses to reproduce this phrase. He should also say that the resolution of the Karabakh conflict should be acceptable to the peoples of Azerbaijan, Karabakh and Armenia. Until he says this, negotiations cannot be effective. Someone might think that a solution acceptable to Azerbaijan cannot be acceptable to the peoples of Karabakh and Armenia. If someone thinks so, he does not know either the people of Karabakh, the people of Armenia, or the whole Armenian people, "the Prime Minister of Armenia concluded.
