ArmInfo.A spokesman for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Vladimir Karapetyan, participated in an international conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership in Batumi, the press service of the Armenian government reported.
In the final discussion entitled "Eastern Partnership 2020", Karapetyan spoke about the radical changes in the internal political life in Armenia, carried out as a result of the revolution, its causes, as well as the democratic processes taking place in the country.
During the event, Vladimir Karapetyan held a number of bilateral working meetings, including with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Lasha Darsalia, at which the parties touched upon various aspects of the bilateral agenda.
The interlocutors stressed the importance of mutual contacts at various levels. They discussed cooperation in international organizations based on the mutual interests of the two countries.
Karapetyan also stressed the importance of developing and deepening bilateral relations. In turn, Darsalia noted that the intensity of mutual visits also testifies to the special attitude of the Georgian authorities towards Armenia.
The Prime Minister's press secretary also held short working meetings with Foreign Minister of Georgia David Zakaliani , Deputy Chairmen of the Georgian Parliament Sergi Kapanadze and Gia Volski, Georgian MPs Giorgi Baramidzeand Giorgi Kandelaki, Deputy Head of the Eastern Partnership countries in the European External Affairs Service Dirk Lorenz and etc.
At the meetings with Georgian officials, issues of Armenian-Georgian relations and upcoming events for the development of bilateral relations were touched upon.
Vladimir Karapetyan and the Deputy Head of the Eastern Partnership countries in the European External Relations Service Dirk Lorenz discussed issues related to the implementation of EU-Armenia cooperation programs.
During the meeting with the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Armenia (residence in Georgia, Ed. note) Johannes Douma, the parties exchanged views on bilateral relations, as well as contacts of the relevant departments of the two countries in the context of visa liberalization. The Ambassador noted that in the Netherlands there is a heightened interest in Armenia, and stressed the effective and close cooperation of the migration services of the two countries in this direction.
During the meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden to Armenia Ulrik Tidestrom Karapetyan touched upon the prospects for bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
During his stay in Batumi, Karapetyan also visited the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Batumi, met with the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia Yeghishe Sargsyan and the staff of the Consulate.
