Head of the Departament of Military Preparedness- Deputy Chief of Armed Forces General Staff of the RA Armed Forces Major General Andranik Makaryan took part in the conference of the heads of the General Staff of the countries participating in the UN peacekeeping missions on the topic "GENERATING CAPABILITIES TO MEET HIGH-PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS" at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Defense Ministry's press service told ArmInfo that the purpose of the conference, which is held on July 10-11, is to centralize the efforts of the countries that provide peacekeeping forces to more effectively accomplish the tasks set. This is the third meeting of this format, which is a continuation of the meeting at the level of defense ministers of the countries participating in UN peacekeeping missions.
At the conference, Makaryan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to assist UN peacekeeping missions.
Makaryan also held bilateral working meetings with partners from Georgia, Belarus, Russia, Greece and Cyprus.
