ArmInfo. On July 9, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan took part in an informal OSCE ministerial meeting entitled "The Role of the OSCE in Stimulating Stability in Europe and Beyond", in which more than two dozen foreign ministers and heads of OSCE structures participated.
Speaking with the report, Mnatsakanyan, in particular, stressed: "Considering wide geography of the OSCE, in which the participating states from the CSTO, the Eurasian Economic Union, the EU and NATO, as well as countries that are not members of any union are represented, it should be emphasized that this is an important platform for testing various ideas, different ways of cooperation, which are aimed, if not at overcoming differences, then at least at managing them. This is a very important value that we must preserve within the OSCE.
Speaking about democracy and human values, the minister noted that they are retreating, and this is very dangerous. "We must ensure the uninterrupted operation of the existing tools in the OSCE. The situation around the meeting on the implementation of human criteria is sad. Over the years, we have been involved in the dialogue within the OSCE on a human plane, appreciating the role of civil society, and, in my opinion, attempts to push it back are not justified, "Mnatsakanyan stressed. He stressed that there are places where people try to stimulate human rights with their own resources, creating relevant institutions, because they do not enjoy the support that many people have. <We have to accept this and find the necessary mechanism to spread human rights protection throughout the OSCE region. And yes, in this context I mean Artsakh. The Karabakh conflict concerns people, their security. I also want to highlight in this context the role of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, within the framework of which we are trying to find a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, "Mnatsakanyan said. Within the framework of an informal ministerial meeting, the Armenian Foreign Minister held meetings with a number of counterparts.
