ArmInfo. And after death, as in life, the great director, screenwriter, artist, collage artist Sergei Parajanov can easily assemble a full house of friends, relatives and just admirers of his work. On July 8, in the abandoned, half-abandoned "Ayrarat" cinema which did not receive guests for about two decades, gathered over 200 visitors, including cultural figures from Armenia, government representatives, friends and just Maestro fans.
The reason for such a meeting was the project "The Temple of Cinema", created by the Polish company Fixafilm in cooperation with the National Cinema Center of Armenia and the Golden Apricot Film Festival, which was dedicated to the Parajanov's "The Color of Pomegranates" film. Thanks to the project, the Armenian viewer had the opportunity to see the shots that were not included in the main montage of the picture.
Among the guests it was difficult not to notice the friend of the director, founder and director of the museum Sergei Parajanov - Zaven Sargsyan, who with enthusiasm and some sadness watched what was happening, fixing everything on the camera, which he repeatedly photographed Parajanov himself. Speaking with ArmInfo correspondent, Zaven Sargsyan said: "I must say that this is Parajanov's triumph. Because this is his best film about our country, which, unfortunately, has not received a single official prize, with the exception of small awards. And it should have been a shame. But as Parajanov himself said, "time will put everything in its place". And I think that this time has come.
"Because continuous suffering is connected with the creation of this film, in particular, because these frames, which we have the opportunity to see today, did not get into the film," explained Sargsyan. In continuation of the above, he noted that the reasons for which some episodes remained outside the main film are completely different. In particular, according to Sargsyan, Parajanov excluded some points himself, as an artist, the decision was also influenced by the need to reduce the size of the picture, and some frames were cut for other reasons.
It should be noted that the Armenian audience can see the installation not included in the main frame of the Sergei Parajanov's "The Color of Pomegranates" film from July 9 to July 12 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm in the "Ayrarat" cinema (formerly Russia) in the framework of the "Temple of Cinema" project of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, which takes place in Yerevan from July 7 to July 14 . The entrance is free.
