ArmInfo. Yerevan Municipality will annually allocate at least 500 million drams for the implementation of the Active Citizen project. This was announced during the presentation of the pilot project by one of the deputy mayors of Yerevan, Sergey Harutyunyan.
According to him, the purpose of this initiative is to provide active citizens of Yerevan with the opportunity to make their suggestions and recommendations on the improvement of the city. Harutyunyan is convinced that the interactive platform will help to implement the most worthy offers of citizens, through a contest, an open vote, the results of which determine the winners. Speaking about the rules and nuances of the competition, the deputy mayor noted that if it is a question of construction or restoration work, for example, a children's playground, the entrepreneur engaged in the construction and sale of construction materials can also submit an application for participation in the competition, proposing the appropriate business project plan.
However, the deputy mayor stressed that will the initiative be approved or not ultimately, the citizen will decide, assuring that this project pursues goals of public interest and public benefit, and the Municipality of Yerevan acts only as an executor of the program, which is successfully implemented in a number of countries.
<By the <unique> voices of our citizens, residents of the capital have the opportunity to directly manage the local budget. Our efforts were aimed at developing an interactive platform with the introduction of electronic methodology, so that we could hear each other, "the deputy mayor concluded.
