ArmInfo.A rally has been held opposite the building of the City Hall of Yerevan since early morning against the unsanitary situation in the city and the inaction of the city administration on this subject.
The participants of the rally threw packets at the entrance to the Yerevan mayor's office with garbage. Some of the participants and organizers of the action have been detained.
It should be noted that the sanitary situation in the city has deteriorated sharply in recent months, the Sanitek company does not manage to cope with its responsibilities for garbage collection, as a result of which garbage accumulates on the streets and is not cleaned for several days.
Yerevan Municipality has repeatedly fined the company, but Sanitek believes that it is not only the company who is to blame for the current situation, since the company's expensive cars quickly failed due to poor gasoline and bad roads in the country. In this regard, the company Sanitek itself has recently filed a lawsuit against the Yerevan City Hall.
In order to somehow rectify the situation, the Municipality of Yerevan purchased 24 KAMAZ trucks, which should be used for garbage collection purposes, some of the cars are already in Yerevan, the other on the way to Armenia, but the situation with garbage collection is still far from being solved. Nevertheless, Hakob Karapetyan, a spokesman for the mayor's office, on his Facebook page today promised that the situation with garbage collection will be improved in the next few days. According to him, in addition to the purchased 24 KAMAZ vehicles, the municipality intends to purchase another 10 vehicles.
