ArmInfo. In the absence of objections from the prosecutor the State Property Management Committee is ready to launch the process of accepting retired General Manvel Grigoryan's property as a gift to the state. This was stated by the head of the Committee Narek Babayan on July 4 in an interview with journalists.
Earlier, Manvel Grigoryan announced a decision to donate to the state an area of more than 329 hectares located in Aknalich community. However, by decision of the investigator, the property was seized. The value of the property, according to various estimates, is about $ 5 million.
According to Babayan, earlier the Committee appealed to court with a letter in which it asked the judge how much damage Grigoryan caused to the state and whether the arrest was imposed on Grigoryan's property in Aknalich. "In the absence of legal obstacles and objections of law enforcement officers, the property will be accepted by the state as a gift, fragmented and sold according to functionality. The property includes a stable, a hippodrome, a hotel, orchards and animal housing," he said.
On the question whether there are concerns that this could be considered as a redistribution of property and whether a person affiliated with the authorities can become the future owner of the donated property, Babayan said: "If my cousin is engaged in business, and will be able to buy a complex on the basis of the auction, it will not mean that there has been an affiliation. "
