ArmInfo.On July 1, the II International Forum "Development of Parliamentarism" starts in the capital of Russia, in which the parliamentary delegation of Armenia participates, headed by President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan.
To note, according to the "Duma TV" portal, the State Duma of the Russian Federation headed by the Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin is the initiator of a large-scale international event. Interest in the forum from parliamentarians, the expert community and the media is growing: guests from 132 countries, about 800 parliamentarians and experts arrive in Moscow. 41 speakers of national parliaments will attend the forum. Delegations from 14 inter-parliamentary organizations will come, 7 of them are headed by leaders - in particular, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Gabriela Cuevas Barron, President of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Shentop, President of the Pan-African Parliament Roger Nkodo Dang, the President of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference Jorgen Pettersson.
The forum will also be attended by well-known European parliamentarians: PACE leaders from different years - in particular, PACE President from 2005 to 2008 Rene van der Linden and PACE President from 2016 to 2017 and Spanish Senate member Pedro Agramunt, and Honorary President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Ilkka Kanerva and Co-Chairman of the Association "French-Russian Dialogue" Thierry Mariani. More than 400 Russian and foreign journalists have been accredited to the Forum. The agenda of the forum includes topical issues of the development of the digital economy, international security and stability, youth and environmental policies. Within the framework of the Forum the Russia-Africa parliamentary conference will take place. Bilateral meetings of Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin with the heads of a number of foreign parliaments are also scheduled on the sidelines of the Forum. Also at the event are scheduled speeches by Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
