ArmInfo. Armenia is one of the promising partners for cooperation on the transport corridor between the Transcaspian region and the Black Sea region. Such an opinion was expressed by Serdar Durdyev, Counselor of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia, in an interview with ArmInfo on the fields of an international media forum dedicated to the first Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in August this year in Avaza in Turkmenistan.
So, when asked by ArmInfo how Armenia could be involved in projects of the countries of the Caspian states, Durdyev stated that the Caspian is not only the sea. According to him, it is a question of adjoining the Caspian and Black Sea regions, the Caspian region and the South Caucasus. "Armenia has a very favorable geographical position. Yes, it does not have access to the sea, but it has access to coastal states. In this case, Armenia, and this was confirmed by the leadership of our countries, is one of the promising partners for cooperation on the transport corridor between the Transcaspian region and, in this case, the Black Sea region. That is, the path from the Caspian Sea to the Black Sea goes through the Caucasus, and Armenia is in the heart of the Caucasus, "the Turkmen diplomat said.
At the same time, he stated that the region is large and interaction is possible, both through the Caucasus and, in principle, through Iran.
It should be noted that today in the Turkmen capital an international media forum was held, dedicated to the first Caspian Economic Forum. The forum was attended by several dozen representatives of international media, foreign delegations showing interest in the upcoming forum, diplomats and representatives of state structures of Turkmenistan. The event was a presentation of the site, the upcoming forum.
