ArmInfo. At an extraordinary meeting on June 28, the Armenian parliament began discussions on the candidacy of Karen Sedrakyan, nominated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia as members of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition with a one-year term of office.
According to Karen Sedrakyan, who presented his vision of the SCPEC activities, first of all, it is necessary to take steps to increase the level of public confidence in the commission's activities. One of the directions of growth of such confidence should be the warning of price collusion in the market, especially when it comes to start-up companies. When entering the market, new entities may face unfair competition by lowering prices, which may put start-up companies in a difficult position. Also, according to the candidate, it is very important to monitor the pricing policy of companies present in the market, with a view to operational intervention with an unreasonable increase in prices.
