ArmInfo.Azerbaijan stepped up anti-Armenian propaganda in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, so on the margins of the PACE summer session, on the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, two events took place - the first was devoted to the issue of Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced persons, the second - the fate of those arrested in Artsakh for the murder of saboteurs Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov.
As the substitute member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, deputy from the ruling faction "My step" Tatevik Hayrapetyan, explained on her Facebook page, the main purpose of the event on the issue of Azerbaijani refugees was to introduce Azerbaijan's policy to solve the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons. Among the speakers was the Vice-Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Fuad Huseynov. According to Hayrapetyan, Huseynov, however, put the main accents of his speech not on the policy of Azerbaijan on the issue of refugees, but on voicing accusations against Armenia. Hayrapetyan herself and another member of the Armenian delegation from the Prosperous Armenia Party, Naira Zohrabyan, refuted the theses put forward by Huseynov and considered it impermissible to organize similar events within the PACE framework, where only one party to the conflict is represented - Azerbaijan amid the absence of officials representing the other two the parties are Armenia and Artsakh.
At another event organized by the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, during which the fate of two Azerbaijani saboteurs was discussed, and which was also attended by the son of one of the saboteurs, an attempt was made to give the issue a humanitarian character. "The Azerbaijani delegation accused the Armenian side of allegedly" ill-treatment "of saboteurs, standard accusations were addressed to Armenia, false information was presented and video was shown," said Hayrapetyan. In her response, however, Hayrapetyan, stressed that this is not a "humanitarian" question, as the Azerbaijanis are trying to present - this is a criminal case. <I stressed that such speculations in the Council of Europe are unacceptable, attempts to present criminals in a humanitarian context are unacceptable. I informed the audience that as a result of the actions of the saboteurs 2 people were killed, one of whom was a 17-year-old young man, one woman was injured. Despite all this, representatives of the Red Cross are in constant contact with the saboteurs, "said Hayrapetyan.
She also stressed that Armenia will not allow new cases of glorification of the murderers and called for an end to the process of creating the new Safarovs (Azerbaijani soldier, heroized for the murder of an Armenian officer, ed.). "In conclusion, I urged to look for cases of human rights violations in our own country, where there is no shortage of this, since many people are in prisons because of their political views," the deputy summed up.
