ArmInfo. Armenia should be fair and desirable in order to attract the Diaspora and investments in the republic. High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan expressed this opinion on June 25 in an interview with journalists in the city of Masis, Ararat region.
According to him, there was a time when it was difficult to interest the Armenian Diaspora. Today the situation has changed, he noted. "But we only need to be consolidated, fix the result and try to involve the Diaspora in what is happening in Armenia," he said.
According to Sinanyan, the spirits of people in the Diaspora is very high. "If the post-revolutionary euphoria in Armenia has slightly declined, then there is no such thing in the Diaspora. It is in expectation," he said.
According to the Chief Commissioner, his department has a strategic program of action. The first step will be to work with the Armenian Diaspora in the Russian Federation, since "it is the largest, and most closest with Armenia, both physically and psychologically." "With proper, good work, they have not only the greatest potential, but they can also provide additional dividends to Armenia. For our part, we are also ready to assist them in very many issues," he said.
As for working with another large Diaspora living in the United States, Zareh Sinanyan noted that he had been living there for more than 30 years, had been engaged in public activities for 20 years, and would be able to use established contacts to mobilize resources for the benefit of Armenia.
