Deputy commander of the Nth military unit of the Artsakh Defense Army, Lieutenant Colonel Pargev Martirosyan said in the conversation with journalists who visit Artsakh as part of a press tour, overseeing large-scale military exercises that started last week.
"In the last period, titanic work was carried out - large-scale engineering and fortification works were carried out, trenches and trenches were built. All roads viewed by the enemy were provided with a protective embankment. The front line is equipped with night vision devices, sensors, which allow detecting the advancement of the enemy in time and taking the necessary measures. All combat positions are provided with constant drinking water, baths are equipped, solar panels are setuped, providing both hot water and other needs, "he noted, adding that before that, in the front line water was supplied through field baths.
Meanwhile, according to him, the availability of round-the-clock drinking water and shower cabins greatly facilitate the everyday life of military personnel.
He also pointed out that serious changes were made to the ration of soldiers, defects were eliminated and their wishes were taken into account. In addition, according to Martirosyan, it was decided to include seasonal vegetables produced by the Ministry of Defense in the diet.
Martirosyan also said that today they are testing new Armenian army footwear in test mode, which, if approved, will enter to the Armed Forces. "Yes, now we have received new army shoes. Soldiers wear with pleasure, so far no complaints have been received, relatively light and comfortable," said the lieutenant colonel.
Touching on the situation on the front line, he noted that these days it was calm, although there was tension a few days ago, shots sounded.
Martirosyan stressed that the order was given to the personnel, everyone knows his own business and adequately performs the assigned tasks.
The lieutenant colonel also said that during the April 2016 events, he served in another area, but he saw with what morale 18-year-old guys participated in the battles. "There were losses, but we with dignity defended our borders," Martirosyan concluded.
