ArmInfo. On June 19, Armenian Ambassador to France Hasmik Tolmajyan met with Deputy Speaker of the French Parliament Carole Bureau-Bonnard. It is reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.
According to the source, during the meeting the parties noted the importance of further development of the Armenian-French relations, referring also to inter-parliamentary cooperation. The interlocutors also discussed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and peoples, as well as parliamentary cooperation on multilateral platforms in the Parliamentary Assemblies of the Council of Europe, OSCE and NATO.
The Ambassador stressed the role of the two houses of the French parliament in international recognition and condemnation of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the fact that French President Emmanuel Macron declared April 24 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Genocide.
The parties also touched upon the recent developments in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
