As part of his working visit to the United States, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale in Washington on June 19.According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, during the meeting, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the development dynamics of the Armenian- American friendly and partner relations. They also stressed that the Armenian-American platform of strategic dialogue is a solid basis for continuous enrichment and expansion of the bilateral agenda to strengthen the political dialogue. Hale praised the comprehensive reform program in Armenia and, on behalf of the United States, expressed his readiness to assist in their implementation.
The Armenian Foreign Minister and the US Assistant Secretary of State discussed a number of topical international and regional issues. In this context, Minister Mnatsakanyan presented ongoing cooperation with global and regional partners aimed at strengthening the security agenda of Armenia. The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of promoting inclusive regional cohesion programs that promote peace and stability in the region. At the request of the interlocutor, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan touched upon the current situation of the peace process on the Karabakh settlement, the principled positions and approaches of Armenia on this issue. Moreover, the minister also presented the priorities of Armenia on the agenda of a meeting with the head of the Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan on June 20.
