ArmInfo. Artsakh hopes to develop the transport system with the support of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. This was stated by David Babayan, head of the Artsakh Presidential Press Service, on June 18 in an interview with journalists before the 28th joint meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan Fund and local authorities.
According to Babayan, in addition to programs in the field of road construction, the republic's leadership would like to develop a transport network with the support of the Fund. ''This is strategic issue for us. Everything will depend on the agenda that will be approved today, " he said.
To note, since 2000, the Fund has been steadily implementing development programs for the regions of Armenia and Artsakh. During this period of time, thanks to these programs, there was a noticeable stimulation of economic growth in Armenia and Artsakh. In 2001, the construction of the "North-South" highway in Artsakh began at the expense of the Fund, thanks to which transport links were created for 80% of the towns and villages of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. For the NKR economy, the construction of the highway was of paramount importance, since it largely contributed to the growth of investment activity in the country.
