ArmInfo. On June 13, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-Chairman of the European Commission Federica Mogherini during his working visit to Brussels.
Mnatsakanyan and Mogherini discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenia-EU agenda. The parties stressed that the second meeting of the Partnership Council between Armenia and the European Union is a good reason to summarize and evaluate the work done after the first meeting of the Council and to plan further steps taken in the framework of the partnership.
The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of continuing EU assistance in the implementation of the reform agenda.
Mnatsakanyan stressed the importance of a dialogue around visa liberalization with, especially in the context of expanding contacts between citizens.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues. At the request of Mogherini, Mnatsakanyan presented the latest processes of the Karabakh settlement. The Minister stressed the need to create a favorable environment for advancing the peace process and, from this point of view, unconditionally respecting and strengthening the cease-fire. Both sides highlighted the implementation of measures to build confidence and agreements on preparing peoples for peace.
Mogherini reaffirmed EU support for the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs for the peaceful resolution of the conflict.
