ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia have close ties of fraternity, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian said on June 12 at the solemn ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Russia.
He stressed that it is a great honor for him to be at this event, to honor Russia, a country with a long history and rich spiritual and cultural heritage on the day that is associated with the beginning of global transformations in the political and economic life of Russia, strengthening its role and place in the international arena.
"The platform on which friendship between our nations has been built step by step for centuries is based on the principles of sincere trust, mutual support and purpose by joint efforts to confront the problems and challenges that we face. Throughout history, we have always been together, shoulder to shoulder, defending justice. The palette of bilateral allied relations is enriched day by day with new directions, and we effectively cooperate in such areas as the military-political, military-technical, trade-economic, energy, transport, humanitarian and cultural fields. Year by year interregional cooperation gaining momentum, supported by intense, peculiar to countries-allies political dialogue at the highest level, " the Armenian diplomat said.
At the same time, Kocharyan stressed that Yerevan highly appreciates the mediation efforts of Russia as co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, aimed at exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to him, today there is a fruitful coordination of interaction between foreign ministries, constructive interaction in the EAEU, the OSCE, CSTO, CIS, UN, OSCE within other international organizations. "We can note with satisfaction the established fruitful inter-parliamentary cooperation, which is especially important in light of the increasing role and functions of the legislative power in our country. Our peoples associate sincere feelings of mutual sympathy and warmth that can be easily felt not only in official contacts, but also at the level of simple relations among people. Relying on this warmth of relations, by joint efforts we can ensure further expansion of the strategic partnership in the interests of the citizens of Armenia and Russia to maintain security and stability in our region, "Kocharyan concluded.
