ArmInfo.On June 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received members of the Research Group to study the possibilities of technological development of Armenia, established on the initiative of the American University of Armenia and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU).
As the Prime Minister's press service reports, the meeting was also attended by Hakob Arshakyan, Minister of High-Tech Manufacturing, Armen Ter-Kyuregyan, Chairman of the American University of Armenia, Karin Markides, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Armenia, Vazgen Yakubyan, President of Synopsys Armenia Yervand Zoryan, Executive Director of the Technology Research Program of Armenia Arthur X Alyatyan and others. The Prime Minister praised the work of the research group and noted that one of the priorities of the Armenian government is the development of a technological economy. Nikol Pashinyan stressed the need to implement programs for training high-quality personnel in the field of technology and added that the development of a high-quality education system is in the focus of attention of the executive branch. The Prime Minister added that to this end, comprehensive reforms will be carried out in the field.
Nikol Pashinyan thanked the people involved in the research work for promoting the technological development of Armenia. Experts from various reputable international scientific and educational institutions presented the results of their research in the educational, economic and technological spheres of Armenia.
In particular, issues of increasing the competitiveness of Armenian companies, strengthening ties between educational institutions and business representatives, enhancing the role of secondary education in vocational guidance and opportunities for the development of digital education were touched upon. During the discussion, the sides exchanged views on steps to ensure technological progress in Armenia.
