ArmInfo. After reaching agreements in Dushanbe, people continue to die in the Karabakh conflict zone. This was announced on June 7 at a press conference in St. Petersburg by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Responding to a question from an Azerbaijani journalist about the deaths of servicemen on the contact line, he noted the need to discuss the agreements reached in 2016 regarding the creation of mechanisms for investigating incidents on the contact line. In this context, Pashinyan commented on the latest incident on the front line, during which, according to the Azerbaijani version, an officer died as a result of the actions of the Armenian side."We provided the rechecked information to the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. We checked this information, all the weapons of the soldiers and received confirmation that not a single shot was fired from the Artsakh Defense Army," Pashinyan stressed.
The Prime minister noted the fact that just at that time rifle exercises were held from the Azerbaijani side. Pashinyan also stressed that after that, a soldier of the NKR Defense Army was killed on the contact line. The prime minister also answered the question of an Azerbaijani journalist regarding "When will Armenia withdraw its troops from the occupied territories?" Pashiyan was puzzled by how people born and raised on this earth and for many generations lived there, on this earth, to occupy this territory. The prime minister once again stressed that Armenia is the guarantor of the security of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and that without the participation of Artsakh in the negotiation process it is impossible to resolve the Karabakh conflict.
