ArmInfo. The negotiations on the Karabakh settlement are a serious political process, in which, to exclude all speculations, the Artsakh Republic must also participate in the full format. The press secretary of the Artsakh President David Babayan stressed this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent, referring to the statement of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the NKR leadership had not been informed about the Karabakh settlement process before his coming to power.
<Someone can say that Artsakh was informed about the process, someone can say that the awareness was not enough, and all of them may be right in their own way, therefore, Artsakh's participation in the negotiations should be restored so that no issues>, Babayan said, stressing that to do this, simply implement the decisions of the Budapest Summit.
To note, the Budapest Summit of 1994 recorded a recommendation to involve elected representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh in the Minsk process.
<The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and other actors always say that everything related to the negotiation process is reported to Artsakh, but informing is not a legal and political category. Therefore, Artsakh should fully participate in the negotiation process so that no problems arise in the future. We have always talked about this and will continue to insist on our own, "said Babayan, emphasizing that against the background of all the ongoing processes, the unity of Armenia and Artsakh should not suffer.
To note today, in an interview with journalists, Pashinyan, in particular, stated that the leadership of Artsakh was not informed about the negotiations on the Karabakh settlement, and only after coming to power, he himself personally presented the NKR authorities with documents regarding the negotiation process.
