``Sasna Tsrer`` demands to include Zhirayr Sefilyan in the  parliamentary commission on studying the events of the April war

ArmInfo.The All-Armenian Sasna Tsrer Party welcomes the establishment of an investigation commission in the National Assembly to study the circumstances of the April war.

As stated in the statement of the party, ''the national significance  of the problem and the importance of its holistic and effective  solution in terms of guaranteeing national and state interests make  it necessary, without giving rise to speculation, to have high  confidence in the results of the commission's activities''.  This  goal, according to the party, can be achieved by bringing to the  commission of persons who spoke at one time with systemic,  professional and reasoned revelations regarding the April four-day  period. "The first of them was Zhirayr Sefilyan, who revealed the  treacherous nature of the April four-day war, territorial losses and  falsifications of Serzh Sargsyan and the regime he led, aimed at  hiding them," the statement said.  In view of the foregoing, the  party demands that Zhirayr Sefilyan be involved in the work of the  commission.

To note, yesterday the first meeting of the commission took place,  which, in the prescribed manner, was held behind closed doors. As  head of the Commission Andranik Kocharyan stated, in the course of  its activities, former and current officials who played key roles  during the April events will be invited to testify.

The initiative to establish a commission belongs to Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan. In public and political circles, this initiative  provoked a mixed reaction, many politicians and experts supported it,  others considered this idea to be inappropriate.
