ArmInfo. On June 1, 2019, the Prime Minister of Armenia approved the staffing table of the ministries.
According to the official website of the RA government, the structure of the new government is represented by 12 ministries. Previously, the government consisted of 17 ministries. The number of ministries headed by the government has decreased due to the merger of the three ministries (education and science; culture; sports and youth issues) into one ministry of education, science, culture and sports. The Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, as well as the transport unit from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies will be part of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology will be renamed the Ministry of High-Tech Industry with the inclusion of functions related to the digital economy and the military- industrial complex. Instead of the Ministry of Diaspora, the institution of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs under the Prime Minister's Office will be implemented. The Ministry of Agriculture unites with the Ministry of Economy into one single organization - the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. The Ministry of Nature Protection will be renamed the Ministry of the Environment.
The six ministries in the new government structure will function without name - the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Healthcare, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance. The Ministry will work 228 people.
The team of the high-tech industry minister will consist of 198 employees, a staff of three deputy ministers is planned with the same number of assistants. 522 people will work in the Ministry of Finance of Armenia.
