According to the source, the parties discussed issues related to reforms in the judicial system of Armenia, the fight against corruption in the judicial system, etc.
The human rights defender said that these issues are the focus of the ombudsman. Tatoyan also noted that there are a number of problems in the country's judicial system related to the independence of the courts, and the situation is complicated by the lack of confidence in the judicial system on the part of residents of the country.
In turn, Yakumopulos stressed the role of the ombudsman in the field of human rights protection. The parties noted that the reform of the judicial system and the fight against corruption should be carried out exclusively in accordance with the Constitution and international legal standards. At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed readiness to continue cooperation in the field of human rights protection.
