ArmInfo. Parents of students of the French school Anatol France in Yerevan on May 31 met with the French ambassador Jonathan Lacote .
According to the press service of the embassy, during this annual meeting the school principal summed up the results of the past year and presented the school development plans. The Ambassador thanked Martin Becker, who left the post of director, for his significant contribution to the development of the school in recent years, and introduced the new director Adel Shekiry, who from the new school year will take the post of school director.
Established in 2007, the French school named after Anatole France, along with the French University of France in Armenia, is one of the key links of the French presence in Armenia. They offer their services to the French community, as well as to parents of Armenians and other nationalities who want to give their children a French national education. Students from more than eighteen countries study in a multilingual environment. More than 50% of schoolchildren are Armenian, the school contributes to the development of the French language and francophone in Armenia.
The school offers full-time education, from kindergarten to high school. The number of students is growing year after year, and this school year the French school is going to accept more than 250 students. Ambassador Jonathan Lacote assured that the embassy will support the development of the school, especially with regard to the selection of new teachers, the certification of courses and the possibility of changing the conditions in the school premises.
