ArmInfo.I do not think that there is any tension between the leadership of Armenia and Artsakh, and there is no reliable information about whether invitations were sent to the NKR leadership to participate in events dedicated to the Day of the First Republic of Armenia or not. The MP from the "My Step" bloc, deputy chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations Hovhannes Igityan told ArmInfo correspondent about this.
At the same time, he personally believes that the behavior of the former and current Presidents of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan, who in court petitioned to change the measure of restraint against the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, is unacceptable. "I believe that personal guarantees of representatives of the leadership of Artsakh related to any case in Armenia are unacceptable, regardless for whom they file a motion. I believe that the NKR leadership should deal with the affairs assigned to them by law," the MP noted.
Touching upon the issue of implementation of transitional justice and its connection with this process on March 1, Igityan said: "Any issue related to the March 1, 2008 case is an exam for judges, as there are so- called "palace judges" in Armenia, who were guided by the instructions from the country's leadership, this is not a secret. They took one decision or another after a telephone call. These judges continue to work today, and I believe that the verdict on changing the measure of restraint against Kocharyan was also instructed, but this time not by the authorities of the country", the MP stressed.
According to him, today there is a situation in Armenia where the judiciary not only does not work, but also violates the laws. "I am sure that the judge who made the decision on this case violated the law," Igityan concluded.
To note, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan on March 18 ruled to release the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan on the basis of the petition of the former and current Presidents of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasian and Bako Sahakyan. After that, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that from a moral point of view he understands the step of the two presidents of Nagorno Karabakh, but from a political point of view, questions arise: "How would have Artsakh reacted if I would have applied for someone''. After that, the media began to spread rumors about tensions between the leaderships of the two Armenian republics, which intensified against the background of the absence of Artsakh representatives at events in honor of the Day of the First Republic of Armenia.
