ArmInfo.In general, the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council - the highest body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) can be considered successful. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed this opinion on May 29 at a briefing after the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) meeting.
According to Pashinyan, there are some issues on the agenda that still need to be agreed, clarified. "We have agreed that we will continue work between our governments on these issues," he said. As the head of the Armenian government pointed out, expansion of foreign economic relations is important for Armenia. At this stage, as the Prime Minister recalled, the circle of partners is expanding, negotiations are underway between the EEU and Singapore, Serbia, Egypt, Israel and India. "It is important that there is political will to work in all these areas," he said, noting that the EEC has already stepped up work in this direction. In general, as Nikol Pashinyan stressed, the meeting of the SEEC can be considered successful.
Earlier it was reported that on May 29 in Nur-Sultan an anniversary meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will be held. The event is dedicated to two anniversaries - the 5th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the 25th anniversary of the idea of Eurasian integration. The agenda includes issues of international activities of the EAEU in 2018, development of economic cooperation with third countries, the main guidelines of the macroeconomic policy of the EAEU states for 2019-2020, implementation of the digital agenda of the EAEU, steps to ensure the free movement of goods and services, as well as a number of other topics.
Today, First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, was awarded the title of Honorary Chairman of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, and he will be awarded the medal "For Contribution to the Development of the Eurasian Economic Union".
