ArmInfo.President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to the website Akorda. The meeting discussed issues of deepening the bilateral economic partnership.
"Our countries have a lot in common, Kazakhstan and Armenian companies are closely cooperating in various fields. We need to give these ties additional impetus that will strengthen trade and economic relations," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.
Nikol Pashinyan also expressed confidence in the further expansion of Kazakhstan-Armenian cooperation in the economic sphere. "The economic ties between our countries are strengthening, trade is growing. But in this direction we still have great potential for growth, which is not yet used to the full extent. Our structures need to work closely together, including within the framework of the EAEU," said Prime Minister Minister of Armenia.
It should be noted that according to the State Statistics Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan in 2018 amounted to $ 13.5 million, a 50% increase, while exports amounted to $ 9.8 million with an increase of 98.2%, imports - $ 3.7 million, a decline of 8.7%.
