ArmInfo. Now we are investigating the destruction of documents from the archives of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia. On May 24 head of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan stated in an interview with journalists.
He stressed that the work is quite voluminous. Vanetsyan noted that no statements on this occasion had been previously given, because he did not want to aggravate the situation, however, the missing documents were known earlier. The director of the NSS noted that if the documents are lost, they must be restored, after which a legal assessment will be given of what happened. "I don't know if there is data, but I'm sure of one thing, we will conduct a large-scale investigation, and I assure you that the investigation will answer all our questions," concluded Vanetsyan.
To note, on January 8, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made a sensational statement regarding the National Security Service of the country at a press conference. According to him, the former government, before leaving the political arena, destroyed the materials stored in the National Security Service. According to Pashinyan, an official investigation is being conducted in the CIS in this case. He didn't talk about what materials are being said: "I'm not a lawyer, and I can't give a legal assessment of what happened, but I think that this crime has an interdepartmental character," he stressed.
