ArmInfo. In the Ministry of Defense of Armenia the case of attempts to "defer" from compulsory military service, through falsification of medical documents has been revealed.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia, thanks to the operational-search measures of the military police of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, the fact of forgery of medical documents was revealed with the aim of deferring from the compulsory military service of a conscript.
In fact, on May 17 of this year, in the military police department in the city Abovyan a criminal case ws opened under Part 1 of Article 325 (1) of the RA Criminal Code (forgery of documents, stamps, seals, forms, vehicle identification numbers, or sales and use), paragraph 2, part 2, article 327 of the RA Criminal Code (evasion of military or alternative service) and Part 1 of Article 376 of the RA Criminal Code (negligent attitude to the service). "On the same day, a 19-year-old resident of the city Hrazdan was arrested on suspicion of committing crimes on the grounds of paragraph 2, part 2, article 327 of the RA Criminal Code," the General Prosecutor's Office reports.
The department also reported that on May 20 the suspect was charged with evading compulsory military service by falsifying medical documents. The court chose arrest as a preventive measure against the detainee. Investigative activities in the framework of the criminal case continue to identify all participants in the crime.
