ArmInfo.Armenia needs a new modern stadium that meets all international standards. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated this on May 23 at a government meeting.
According to him, the new stadium is also a new philosophy, but its construction should not be carried out in the green areas of the center of the capital, it should have a good infrastructure, which includes the capabilities of the airport. This question, as the head of government noted, needs to be intensified, choose a place, invite specialists, decide on investors, and make a decision. "It will be possible to think about its construction along one of the routes of the North-South highway," Nikol Pashinyan said.
In turn, Director of the National Security Service, President of the Football Federation of the Republic of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan stressed that the problem with the lack of a good stadium is obvious in Armenia. UEFA may disqualify an existing stadium that does not meet international standards. At the same time, as Vanetsyan noted, modern stadiums, as a rule, provide for green zones. A garden should be laid out around this stadium. Only at the stadium itself, an area of 5-6 hectares is needed, another 10-15 hectares of gardens should be located around the sports facility. In total, its construction requires at least $ 100 million, moreover, funds should be raised from the private sector.
Speaking of the "Hrazdan" stadium, the head of the FFA noted that it requires huge investments, and it is not a fact that it will be adopted later, because it requires solving security problems, ensuring transport interchanges, and quickly unloading them. Nevertheless, Arthur Vanetsyan, with the owner of the "Hrazdan" stadium, negotiations are underway regarding the modernization of the sports facilities in order to conduct matches of the domestic championship.
