ArmInfo.  The National Security  Service of Armenia in the course of operational and investigative  activities carried out in customs structures, learned about the  mechanisms used by some business entities that, without permission,  imported various goods (clothing and textiles) into the country.

As  the press service of the National Security Service informs, in  particular, it turned out that a group of RA citizens imported part  of their cargo from Turkey for commercial purposes through the  Bagratashen checkpoint, without declaring it or declaring it at a  cheaper price than they were purchased to avoid customs duties.As a  result of long and large-scale operational-search measures to prevent  such practices, on May 19, 2019, another attempt to import cargo by  the above method was stopped. 

A consignment of 14 tons of goods was transported to Armenia on one  bus and 5 Ford Transit cars, and only part of this product was  declared in the prescribed manner, and the rest was either not  declared at all, or was declared under the name of other lower by its  value of goods.Illegal transportation of goods by this route could be  possible due to the abuse of official position by the Bagratashen  customs officials.At the moment, the staff of the National Security  Service and the State Control Service at the Bagratashen checkpoint  are taking joint measures to inventory the imported goods and  calculate the amount of damage caused to the state. However, persons  engaged in commercial activities constantly and stubbornly impede  this process in order to continue to use these mechanisms in the  future.It should be noted that from the sutra, the officers of the  National Security Service of Armenia carry out checks at the customs  station "Bagratashen"; cargo arriving from Turkey is not allowed in  the country. At the checkpoint formed the queue. Armenian Ombudsman  Arman Tatoyan stated that he is already dealing with this issue.
