ArmInfo. Our guarantee did not pursue the goal of influencing the judicial system of the country, it is just a guarantee to change the preventive measure against the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian. Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan said this in an interview with journalists in the courtyard of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
"Our written guarantee also states that our petition did not aim to increase tensions, but on the contrary, this step aimed to weaken it in the presence of tension. Our petition did not aim to affect the judicial system, it is just a guarantee to change the preventive measure ",- he noted, answering the question that there is an opinion that they by their actions increased tension between Armenia and Artsakh. To clarify the journalist whether the troops were brought from Artsakh to Yerevan during the March 2008 events, Sahakyan noted that statements were repeatedly made on this fact, and moreover, investigative measures are also continuing in the criminal case on the events of March 1.
Referring to today's statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia that there are forces and figures who are trying to surrender the territories, and then put all the responsibility on the current government, Sahakyan in particular, said: "If there are such figures and forces, then we must identify them. If there are such goals, then I also qualify it as a betrayal. I myself do not have information about the presence of such forces and figures preparing a conspiracy. "As ArmInfo previously reported, Sahakyan is in Yerevan in the morning and holds meetings with various social and political circles. During these meetings, Sahakyan explains his position and approaches on the latest processes and the situation after them.It should be noted that the measure of restraint against the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, accused of overthrowing the constitutional system, was changed under the personal guarantee of Saakyan and ex- President of Artsakh Arkady Ghukasyan. This decision caused dissatisfaction with a part of society, which demanded to influence the court with a view to revising it.
The night before, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the mobilization of the people opposite the buildings of the courts since the morning of May 20. Today, he said that the judicial system of Armenia needs "surgical" reforms, since it does not enjoy public confidence. In the light of the current situation in some socio-political circles of Armenia, there were accusations addressed to Saakyan that he split the Armenian society with his act.
