ArmInfo. During the meeting with representatives of the Russian media, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed his position on the petition of the former and current presidents of Nagorno-Karabakh Arkady Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan to change the preventive measure against the second president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian.
"Of course, I know that the President of Nagorno-Karabakh, Bako Sahakyan, applied to the court to change the preventive measure against Robert Kocharyan, however, I do not intend to interfere in this issue," Pashinyan stressed.
"A day before appealing to the court, Sahakyan informed me of his intention, and asked my point of view on this issue. I expressed my position, from a moral point of view I treat this petition normally. From a political point of view, there are certain questions. How would you react if I began to submit a petition to change the preventive measure under my personal guarantee in the Karabakh court? ", Pashinyan concluded.
To note, today the Prime Minister met with representatives of a number of leading Russian media in Armenia. At the meeting, in particular, correspondents of TASS, RIA Novosti, Interfax, Lenta.ru, Ekho Moskvy, Komsomolskaya Pravda radio stations, Kommersant, Izvestia, Moskovsky Komsomolets, Nezavisimaya newspaper and television company RT.
Recall that on May 16, the court of general jurisdiction of the Yerevan administrative districts of Avan and Nor Nork considered the petition of the current and former Presidents of Artsakh Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukasyan to change the measure of restraint against Robert Kocharyan under their personal guarantee.
Recall that the second President of Armenia is accused of overthrowing the Constitutional order during the events of March 1, 2008, as well as receiving a bribe on a large scale.
