ArmInfo. Azerbaijan is pursuing a destructive policy on the Karabakh conflict, and in this light it is unlikely that there will be a breakthrough in the near future. Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia Ruben Safrastyan said this at a press conference on May 15.
He noted that it is now difficult to make any predictions on this conflict, since the position of the parties varies considerably. Moreover, Safrastyan stressed that due to the position of Baku, there is no significant progress now. "I am sure that to resolve the conflict, Artsakh's return to the negotiating table is necessary as it is one of the parties to the conflict, and its position on this issue is very important," the expert emphasized.
