ArmInfo. Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Heinz Koller urges participants in the labor market not to be afraid of scientific and technological progress. Koller stated this on May 15 at the launch of the "Work, Armenia" program and the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the ILO.
According to the ILO representative, many now have fears that innovation and technology boom will lead to a significant reduction in jobs. According to the expert, these concerns are mostly unfounded. "Perhaps, the essence of about 40% of jobs will be revised, but I assure you that there will be no unemployed future," he said.
To note, in the World Bank's World Development Report for 2019, it is argued that while automation is crowding out workers, technological innovation creates more new industries and jobs on the balance sheet.
ArmInfo.Germany assisted Armenia on reduction of 21 armored combat vehicles, which have lost their combat significance.
