ArmInfo. The Armenia-Artsakh Strategic Alliance forum held in Stepanakert on May 7 is nothing more than an attempt to move the center of revanchism from Armenia to Artsakh. Head of the "United Armenia" (Artsakh) party Vahan Badasyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"The main topic of this forum was the discussion of the need to conclude a military-political alliance between Armenia and Artsakh. However, I consider this forum and all other attempts by the leadership of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun in Artsakh exclusively through the prism of striving for revanchism. "Requests for the release of Robert Kocharyan, out of any doubts, also "from this opera". And the Prosecutor General of Armenia rightly and correctly pointed out in his response to the illegality of the very fact of such an appeal," he stressed.
On May 7, the incumbent and the second Presidents of the Artsakh Republic, Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukasian, appealed to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan with a request to change the preventive measure against the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, on the eve of the holidays on May 9.
Sahakian and Gukasyan also expressed their readiness to give any public guarantees necessary for release from the detention center and finding Kocharyan in the course of the upcoming trial at large. It should be noted that on May 13 a trial began in relation to Kocharyan.
The Artsakh politician is convinced that with such steps the former and current presidents of Artsakh pointedly emphasize their own distrust towards the Armenian authorities. According to his estimates, such a state of affairs is logically justified and is due to contradictions between those that are a continuation of the former dictatorial regime of Armenia, the authorities of Artsakh and the new legitimately elected authorities of Armenia.
"The reason for these contradictions is on the surface. The authorities of Armenia bring their predecessors to justice, while the latter are striving to preserve the loot with all their might. The Alliance of President Robert Kocharian's associates," I consider it my intention to join some forces "fighting against the authorities" of this logic. Nevertheless, the real opposition forces of Nikol Pashinyan will never allow Kocharyan to join himself. Kocharyan can only join the robbers, revenge-seekers and gangsters ", Badasyan summarized
On May 11, the first meeting of the President Robert Kocharian's associates alliance of was held in Yerevan with the participation of supporters, leaders and representatives of various organizations supporting Kocharyan. The goal of the Alliance, according to the organizers of the event, is "to provide support to the illegally detained" former President of Armenia.
