ArmInfo."We do not intend to create an alliance with supporters of the second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan." MP from the Prosperous Armenia faction Iveta Tonoyan told a briefing in parliament on May 13 about whether the PAP will participate in the alliance formed by supporters of the second president of Armenia.
Tonoyan stressed that the issue was not discussed in the faction, nor was the possibility of forming an alliance with another political force or bloc. She noted that everything related to the activities of the alliance of supporters of Robert Kocharyan is exclusively in their field of activity.
In turn, MP from the Bright Armenia faction Gevorg Gorgisyan also noted that they do not intend to form an alliance with supporters of the second president of Armenia. "We do not intend to cooperate with any of the representatives of the previous government. As you know, our party has always fought for justice. Moreover, I am sure that the representatives of the alliance are mistaken in thinking that the people of Armenia will support the second president and forget all his actions. If people have forgotten about this, then representatives of "Bright Armenia" will remind about it. The main goal of this alliance is to protect one specific person, while this case is given political overtones, "the MP concluded.
To note, on May 11 at meeting of the "Union of President Robert Kocharian's supporters" alliance was held. During the event, it was stated that the purpose of the alliance is to protect the "illegal imprisoned second president of Armenia."
To recall, the second President of Armenia is accused of overthrowing the Constitutional order during the events of March 1, 2008, as well as receiving a bribe on a large scale.
