ArmInfo.Armenia and Chile abolish visa regime for citizens with diplomatic and official passports. At the May 10 meeting, the RA government approved the draft presidential decree on ratification of the bilateral agreement.
According to RA Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, the goal of the agreement is to assist in intensifying political dialogue and developing Armenian-Chilean cooperation at all levels. The minister recalled that in 2014 the President of Armenia visited Chile, during which several documents were signed. On April 14, 2015, the Chamber of Deputies of the Republic of Chile adopted a resolution condemning the fact of the Armenian Genocide. On April 14, 2016, the same Chamber adopted a resolution condemning the aggression of Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh during the April war.
As the Armenian Foreign Minister noted, at present, the Armenian-Chilean relations continue to actively develop, and as a result of the agreement signed on April 27, 2018, opportunities will open up for even closer cooperation between the two states, and high-level mutual visits are intensified.
