ArmInfo..There is no super premier institution in Armenia and there can not be any. The head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan stated this on May 8 at a press conference in Yerevan.
According to him, in a democratic Armenia, power belongs not to the prime minister, but to the people, and where there is power of the people, this institution cannot be there. "I never gave instructions about who should be elected head of the community, I did not pretend and do not pretend to someone else's property with requirements to transfer 50 percent of shares to authorized representatives, members of my team did not give journalists recommendations on the content of the questions to the head of state", Nikol Pashinyan noted. He also stated that if there was an institute, the super prime minister could not convene 5 press conferences, including today, not to appear for questioning as a witness in the case of events of March 1-2, 2008." I could not do all this, but there should be civic responsibility, "Nikol Pashinyan stressed. He added that the institute of the super prime minister is an institution of a group of people that aims to retain power at any cost.
He also expressed his opinion about the demands that the national parliamentary authorities made on giving the status of ministries to the National Security Service and the RA Police on the eve. "Do we want the emergence of a new Serzh Sargsyan, who started his activity in Armenia in the structures of national security?Do we want this or not?" Nikol Pashinyan wondered.
To recall that on the eve of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, the opposition raised the question of the need to unite the structures of the National Security Service and the Police and give it the status of a ministry.
