ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister does not see political undertones in the demand of the "Citizen's Decision" party to initiate criminal proceedings against Prosperous Armenia Party leader, one of the richest people of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan.
According to the Prime Minister, the issue should be considered within legal framework, not a political one. And those citizens who consider that there is political persecution by the authorities in this demand, according to Pashinyan, did not fully realize the fullness of the changes that occurred in Armenia in 2018. "Someone thinks our government needs this? We won over 70% of the vote in the parliamentary elections," the prime minister said.
It should be noted that last week the Citizen's Decision Party sent a statement to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan and Parliament Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan, asking them to initiate criminal proceedings against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, who being a lawmaker, is engaged in entrepreneurial activities, which contradicts to the law. Representatives of the party are asking to clarify the case, and if these suspicions are confirmed, deprive Tsarukyan of the parliamentary mandate and investigate the case in detail.
