He noted that the embassy and today works with various government structures to provide assistance in various fields. "In particular, the embassy works with the judicial system, the Prosecutor General's Office, the investigating authorities, the law office, etc."- stressed Andrews.Deputy Secretary of State noted that the United States welcomes reforms in Armenia.
"We hope that the government of the country will make efforts to implement important reforms in the country. In particular, in the field of justice. I hope that it will become more accessible for the citizens of the country", said Andrews, noting that as a result of meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General's Office , Police, Academy of Justice, his visit was very interesting and productive.He noted the global problem of organized crime. "The government of Armenia as well as the governments of various countries of the world is trying to adapt to the realities of the 21st century. Organized criminal groups form very quickly and use modern technologies to their advantage. And governments of different countries of the world are trying to adequately respond and counteract these organizations," he stressed. .At the same time, the US Undersecretary of State for Eastern Europe noted that criminal groups are also uniting and creating networks around their activities, and governments around the world should work together to fight organized crime. "I and the representatives of our delegation are here so that we with the representatives of the Armenian government can strengthen our ties and be better able to counter the existing challenges and threats," Andrews concluded.
